  • What is life insurance?

Taking out life insurance is a way to make sure your loved ones have some financial support to fall back on in the event of your death. The payout could be used to help with household bills, unpaid loans or living costs. As long as you keep up with your monthly payments, you can help protect your loved ones from financial uncertainty with a guaranteed lump sum.

  • How does life insurance work?

Simply choose the policy that meets your needs with a monthly premium amount that suits your lifestyle and budget. As long as you keep up with your monthly payments your life insurance is valid until the term expires.

  • Why do I need life Insurance?

If you’re concerned that your family might not be able to cope financially without you, you should consider life insurance. Securing a policy can help to protect your family from financial hardship as a result of your death.

  • Who can get life insurance?

If you are a UK resident aged between 18 and 65, you can apply for life insurance. In general, the younger you get life insurance the cheaper it will be.

  • How much does it cost?

The cost of your monthly premiums will depend on the type of policy you take out, how much cover you choose, your age, health, lifestyle, and the length of time you want cover for.

  • Do my policy premiums go up if I make a claim?

No, your premiums do not go up as a result of making a claim for products available directly through Choozi. Please check the Key Facts Document of the policy you are interested in for more information about premium pricing.

  • Am I covered if I have a history of mental illness?

For life insurance, you will need to declare this when applying. You will then need to undergo the underwriting process which will assess whether or not you can be insured.

  • Am I locked into the policy I choose?

You can cancel your policy at any time. Each policy has a cooling off period - if you cancel your policy within the cooling off period, you will be refunded the premiums you have paid in full. If you cancel cover after the cooling off period, generally there is no refund of premiums or benefit payable.

  • Can I get insurance if I'm diabetic?

For life insurance, you will need to declare this when you are applying. You will then need to undergo the underwriting process which will assess whether or not you can be insured.

  • How do Choozi make money?

When you purchase a policy through us, we are paid a commission from the insurer. We do not charge you any fees or add on any extra costs for the service that we provide to our customers.

  • How long does it take to pay out for a claim?

For life insurance, you will need to send in a claim form to the insurer. Once the insurer has received all the necessary documentation, your claim will be assessed and if approved, payment will be made promptly. To ensure that your claim is processed as quickly as possible, you should make sure that you complete the claims form in full and include all the supporting documents when you send your claim to the insurer. In some cases the insurer may need to get some additional information from you. Once they have this information they will consider it along with the rest of your claim as quickly as possible.

The length of time to assess and provide an outcome will depend on the nature and complexity of your claim. Sometimes the insurer may require additional reports from your medical practitioners or from government organisations. This means that the insurer is subject to their turnaround times to acquire this information. If this occurs, the insurer will inform you and keep you up to date with the progress of your claim.

  • How long does it take to get a quote?

Usually it takes no longer than 7 minutes to generate a quote once Choozi gathers some basic information about you and what you need.
